Responsibilities:

Articulation Agreement Development & Administration

  • Develop, negotiate, and maintain course and major articulation agreements with California Community Colleges and other partner institutions by working directly with CSUSB department chairs to evaluate curriculum equivalencies, creating and publishing agreements on the ASSIST platform.
  • Maintain official campus articulation records and accurate course-level articulations in the uAchieve database, in order to ensure students receive appropriate transfer credit and that CSUSB's degree pathways remain accurate, current, and defensible under CSU and state transfer policy.
  • Serve as the University's primary point of contact for articulation-related inquiries from faculty, counselors, feeder-college administrators, and the CSU Chancellor's Office.
  • Analyze and resolve disputed course articulation decisions by collaborating with faculty and campus partners and evaluate the impact of proposed CSUSB curriculum changes on existing articulation agreements and current and prospective transfer students to ensure seamless transfer pathways

Transfer Credit Evaluation & TMC/ADT Program Administration

  • Evaluate and optimize transfer credit pathways by analyzing new and revised Transfer Model Curriculum (TMC) patterns issued by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office and working with faculty to determine equivalency to CSUSB majors, reviewing CSUSB curriculum changes for their effect on existing TMC agreements and recommending solutions.
  • Develop workflows with the Office of the Registrar for awarding transfer credit for external exams (AP, IB, CLEP), military training, and prior learning assessments, in order to ensure transfer students can complete their CSUSB degree within the maximum allowable units and remain compliant with CSU system-wide transfer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Admissions and Academic Advising to ensure that students entering with an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) are placed in the correct major, tracked and coded correctly, and advised appropriately.
  • Under general direction of University Registrar, administer the campus articulation systems to publish articulation data by serving as the lead campus data manager for ASSIST and campus administrator for the Transfer Evaluation System (TES), training faculty and staff on the use of both platforms, creating and monitoring user accounts, to ensure articulation data is accurate, accessible, and correctly published to students and partner institutions.
  • Serve as a campus spokesperson to the ASSIST management team to provide feedback and recommendations on system development and direction.

Policy Advisement, Consultation, & Institutional Representation

  • Advise campus stakeholders on articulation and transfer policy by maintaining current knowledge of applicable laws, Chancellor's Office executive orders and coded memoranda, and legislative changes affecting articulation and transfer programs.
  • Consult with administrators, department chairs, faculty, and staff on articulation issues and initiatives such as the ADT program, in order to keep the University informed of and compliant with evolving transfer requirements.
  • Represent CSUSB at statewide and regional California Intersegmental Articulation Council (CIAC) meetings to maintain the University's standing in statewide articulation efforts.
  • Provide lead work direction to staff in Registrar office assigned to articulation-related functions by developing and coordinating workflows for staff who record course articulations in uAchieve and TES and who monitor students on ADT pathways.
  • Provide input to the University Registrar on staff performance evaluations to ensure articulation and transfer credit processing is completed accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner.
  • The incumbent is accountable for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of the articulation work performed by assigned staff.

Other Classification related duties as assigned

  • Perform additional duties related to articulation and transfer pathways as assigned by the University Registrar, in order to support departmental and divisional operations as needs arise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs, and four years of related experience.
