The Palm Desert Campus (PDC) seeks dynamic, motivated, and service-oriented students to serve as PDC Student Ambassadors. Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Engagement and Completion, Student Ambassadors support the Student Services Front Desk (IW), Administration Front Desk (RG), and Student Engagement through a combination of administrative, programming, marketing, and outreach duties. This multifaceted role provides opportunities to develop professional skills, support campus operations, and act as a representative of the campus community.
ResponsibilitiesUnder direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:
Front Office & Campuswide Office Support- Provide front office coverage for multiple departments across the Palm Desert Campus based on operational needs.
- Rotate between campus offices, including but not limited to Student Services, Basic Needs, Administration, and other campus departments as assigned.
- Welcome visitors and provide exceptional customer service to students, families, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and assist with general inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Schedule appointments, direct visitors to appropriate resources, and provide general administrative support.
- Learn the services and procedures of various campus offices to effectively assist students and visitors.
- Adapt quickly to different office environments and priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Assist with planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of campus events.
- Support recruitment activities, orientations, workshops, involvement fairs, commencement, and special campus programs.
- Prepare materials, manage event logistics, and provide on-site assistance.
- Help maintain organized and welcoming student spaces.
- Represent CSUSB Palm Desert Campus at on-campus and off-campus events, including college fairs, high school visits, community events, and orientation programs.
- Serve as a positive representative of the university by demonstrating professionalism, inclusivity, and school pride.
- Promote campus programs, services, and opportunities to prospective and current students.
- Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to enhance student experience.
- Assist professional staff with office projects, data entry, filing, inventory, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Complete projects accurately and within established deadlines.
- Participate in required trainings and team meetings.
- Lead engaging and informative campus tours for prospective students, families, community members, and campus guests.
- Share personal experiences as a CSUSB Palm Desert student while highlighting academic programs, student services, campus resources, and facilities.
- Answer questions professionally and accurately.
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Qualification:
Admission or registration as a CSU student.
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
