Join one of Northern California's most respected mechanical engineering and construction firms as a BAS Project Manager
. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of high-performance Building Automation Systems (BAS) supporting commercial and industrial facilities throughout the Sacramento market.
You'll manage projects from initial planning through turnover-owning scheduling, budget oversight, technical coordination, and client communication. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned BAS professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys full project ownership within a well-established and collaborative organization.
- Title: BAS Project Manager
- Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 (DOE)
- Bonus: Annual company performance bonus (paid every December; missed only once since 2008)
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Manage and execute Building Automation Controls projects from kickoff through closeout
- Develop and track project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and expectation alignment
- Maintain control over project costs to meet financial and margin objectives
- Prepare, review, and process change orders and scope adjustments
- Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, and internal project support teams
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and work closely with purchasing on materials and vendor selection
- Conduct site visits to verify quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications
- Identify potential risks early and apply corrective actions to avoid delays
- Manage final project delivery including documentation, commissioning support, and client turnover
- Demonstrated experience as a BAS Project Manager or similar role in mechanical or controls contracting
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, or building automation construction processes
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple active projects
- Experience with both Design-Build and Plan & Spec environments is preferred
