Coaching & Mentoring (60%)

Participant Training and Engagement (up to 20%)

Monitoring & Compliance (20%)

Non-Essential Duties And Responsibilities

These duties include tasks that are required and comprise less than 5% of daily functions for this job:

  • Represent the program and agency at outreach events in the community, including community fairs, conferences, workshops, visits, program meetings and events.
  • Ability to work professionally with all clients.
  • Attend/participate in professional development trainings, and/or certifications.
  • Submit monthly reports to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications

Minimum Required

  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred, including a minimum of 24 semester units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would enable the candidate to successfully perform the functions of the positions.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 3 years of experience working in child care settings. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children's families and/or child care providers. Experience facilitating groups independently and/or co-facilitating groups. Experience working with adult learners and clients from a variety of backgrounds and communities. Experience with the child care populations is preferred.
  • Professional/Technical

    Certifications:

    Hold or ability to obtain or qualify for Teacher Permit. OR Willing to be trained or equivalent in units.
  • Technical Requirements:
    Intermediate proficiency level using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and video conferencing tools including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Bilingual

    Required:

    Ability to converse, read, write and/or translate in English and Spanish
  • Behavioral:
    Effective communication, working professionally with adults and children, able to demonstrate a service-oriented approach to families. Cooperative work, effective Organization skills and Customer Service; collaborative teamwork, accurate work product, strong problem-solving skills, effective critical thinking, ability to make independent decisions/judgement, work comfortably in various environments. Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

    Strong knowledge and understanding of Child Development & Standard Educational Practice. Ability to coordinate a variety of schedules and work independently with limited direction. Ability to complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirement and changes in assignment. Ability to be flexible and innovative, as the needs of the program evolve (including flexible work hours), to support departmental and agency programs.

    Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance to carry out the essential functions. Ability to prioritize work effectively, multi-task, adjust to meet multiple demands; follow up with tasks through completion; ensure deadlines are met. Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, apply good judgment in making decisions, work independently and take initiatives. Adherence to confidentiality, including HIPAA and PHI, in accordance with Agency policy and legal requirements.

    Adherence to technological security in accordance with Agency policy and legal requirements.
  • Travel:
    This position requires travel. Travel will consist of attending onsite visits, training and meetings with child care providers within CCRC's service area.
