  • Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
  • Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3units graduate) per semester
  • Must have a federal need of at least $2,000
  • Submit all requested financial aid documentation from your To-Do-List by the due date
  • Must have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or permanent resident

    Job Summary:

    The Office of Black Student Services (OBSS) is dedicated to implementing high-impact practices that foster academic success and support the retention of at-promise students. Our services are open to all students regardless of academic standing. OBSS strives to create a supportive and culturally affirming learning environment grounded in principles reflected throughout the African Diaspora at California State University, San Bernardino. OBSS offers a wide range of academic support services, including:

    • Academic advising
    • Guidance, counseling, and mentorship
    • Service-learning and career development opportunities
    • Connections to campus resources, programs, and peer networks
    • A welcoming environment that promotes acceptance, belonging, and personal growth
    Responsibilities:

    Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:

    • Maintain professional etiquette while assisting with program outreach, including phone calls, emails, and social media responses.
    • Organize and maintain files and records for all OBSS programs and events, ensuring that required paperwork and documentation are completed in a timely manner.
    • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of OBSS programs, workshops, and events.
    • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
    • Update and maintain resource manuals as assigned.
    • Participate in at least one campus training or an external workshop/training not offered on campus (advance notice will be provided).
    • Assist with referrals and appointment scheduling for students and others who contact the office by phone or email.
    • Adhere to all CSUSB policies and departmental procedures.
    • Support major OBSS and affiliated events, including but not limited to BFSSA programs, Black Grad, Pioneer Breakfast, social gatherings, receptions, and other key initiatives (advance notice will be provided).
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
    • Special

      Qualification:

      Admission or registration as a CSU student.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
    • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
    • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
    • Eligible to work in the United States
    • Payroll Requirement:
      Social Security Card
