Operations Supervisor - WWT

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor with centrifugation systems and M  technology experience to oversee the daily operation of wastewater treatment systems at a high-throughput industrial resource recovery facility.

This is a hands-on, site-based supervisory role responsible for leading operators, ensuring process stability, maintaining compliance, and driving day-to-day performance across biological, mechanical, and membrane treatment systems.

The Operations Supervisor will act as the first-line technical authority on shift ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient wastewater operations while coordinating closely with maintenance, environmental, and broader site teams.

• Operations Supervision & Process Control
• Monitor influent/effluent quality, flows, and process KPIs to ensure permit compliance
• Optimise biological, mechanical, and membrane-based systems to manage variable loadings
• Troubleshoot operational upsets and escalate complex issues where required
• Provide shift leadership and technical direction to operations personnel

• Oversee centrifugation systems for solids separation and dewatering
• Support operation and optimisation of M  (Membrane Bioreactor) systems, including membrane cleaning and performance monitoring
• Monitor and maintain transfer systems including pumps, valves, piping, and associated infrastructure
• Ensure systems are operating within design parameters and performance targets

• Support preventative and corrective maintenance programs
• Identify mechanical, instrumentation, and process issues early to minimise downtime
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and third-party contractors
• Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records

• Ensure adherence to environmental permits and discharge requirements
• Oversee sampling, testing, and documentation processes
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions
• Maintain compliance reporting standards

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
• Ensure all wastewater activities align with site safety procedures
• Work closely with utilities, environmental, and site leadership teams

• Experience supervising industrial or municipal wastewater treatment operations
• Hands-on knowledge of centrifugation systems and M  technology (essential)
• Strong understanding of biological and membrane treatment processes
• Experience working in regulated environments with environmental compliance requirements
• Comfortable working in a fully onsite, operational environment

• Experience with in industrial processing, resource recovery, F&B, or organics facilities
• Exposure to facilities with variable influent characteristics
• Wastewater certifications (California certifications highly desirable)
