This position is represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association. The compensation schedule is based on the collective bargaining agreement.

Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician Overview

The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician is a working member of the Aircraft Maintenance Technician group who provides technical leadership, coordination, and work direction to assigned Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. This role serves as the primary liaison between maintenance personnel, production control, and maintenance leadership while ensuring aircraft maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA regulations and Company procedures.

  • Lead, direct, and approve the work of assigned Aircraft Maintenance Technicians
  • Act as the interface between supervisors/managers and assigned group members
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Production Control and Maintenance Coordinators
  • Provide technical support and guidance to assigned mechanics
  • Coordinate staffing and overtime needs with management
  • Track, update, and communicate task progress and ready times
  • Research technical issues and expedite parts availability
  • Assign scheduled maintenance tasks and non routine work based on skill, workload, and timelines
  • Participate in daily maintenance planning and shift turnover meetings
  • Monitor maintenance progress to ensure airworthiness and schedule compliance
  • Coordinate aircraft movements, parking, and hangar activity
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of aircraft discrepancies
  • Ensure proper documentation, parts usage, and work sign off
  • Maintain housekeeping standards for hangars, tooling, and equipment
Required Qualifications
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform all duties of an Aircraft Maintenance Technician
  • Strong technical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under time critical and safety sensitive conditions
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain SIDA badge
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of prior experience in a lead or coordinating role
  • 2 years Boeing 737 maintenance experience
  • 2 years Heavy check or hangar maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with maintenance tracking and production control processes
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Valid US Passport preferred
Compensation

$41.75 USD per hour along with a shift differential and sign‑on bonus. This is the base compensation range for this role.
