We have an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Program Lead to support our growing government and private-sector environmental consulting business in California. This seller-doer role will lead strategy development, capture, and execution of environmental projects focusing on the Golden State. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in environmental services, such as due diligence and property transaction advisory services; site investigation, risk assessment, and remediation;

environmental compliance (permitting, reporting, and auditing); and communication and negotiation with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. The candidate will have a proven business development track record, including developing and winning new projects and clients.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Establish and develop new commercial/industrial/government client accounts and bid opportunities.
  • Lead the development and delivery of technical consulting presentations to prospective clients.
  • Prepare proposals, manage projects, and perform technical work as necessary, balancing sales and billable work.
  • Partner with regional leaders and subject matter experts to pursue and win work.
  • Complete projects on time and within budget under client expectations and regulatory guidelines effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate to support team building, mentoring, and skill development of emerging staff talent.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies to increase client base for a broad range of integrated consulting services. Identify and nurture strategic partnerships for major commercial projects and government clients.
Required Qualifications:
  • BS degree in engineering, geology, hydrology, or a related technical field is required.
  • 15+ years’ experience in environmental consulting services with at least five years of experience in program management, business development, and strategic planning focused on the commercial and private market sector.
  • Proven expertise and a successful track record in the commercial and private market industry with the ability to identify new opportunities, develop strategies to win targeted pursuits, and penetrate key clients.
  • Knowledge of environmental due diligence, site investigation, and remediation is required.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the commercial and private sector, including market potential, competition, clients, forecasting, and capture strategy.
  • Strong network of clients and long-standing established relationships within the commercial and private market sectors.
  • Experience working closely with senior management and operations to develop pursuit strategies for prospective projects.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication and demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to customers and management.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
