Position: Sheriff's Deputy Chief (County Promotional)

This recruitment is open only to current San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Captains.

Position Overview

The Sheriff's Department is accepting applications for Sheriff's Deputy Chiefs who direct and coordinate the activities of a bureau of operating divisions, detention facilities and/or stations. This recruitment will result in a new list of eligible candidates to replace the existing list of candidates. For more detailed information, refer to the Sheriff's Deputy Chief job description.

Requirements & Experience

Applicants must be currently employed in a regular full-time position with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department as a Sheriff's Captain, and have at least one (1) year of experience in that position as of the filing deadline.

Note:

On your application, clearly differentiate between Captain experience and prior experience.
