We are recruiting an Archives Supervisor
, official title Records Management Supervisor
. The supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the County Archives unit, supervise staff, coordinate archival projects, ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards, and provide expert-level guidance in storage, preservation, and retrieval of County records and historical documents.

- At least 2 years of experience in an archive, library, museum, or similar setting conducting archival and/or records management projects and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- At least 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Alternatively, 30 semester (45 quarter) units in Archives and/or Records Management, History, Political Science, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for one year of required experience (but not for supervisory experience). Transcripts must be attached if an associate degree (or higher) has not been completed.
Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. If completed outside the U.S., an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency is required.
Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will hold an associate degree or higher in the applicable field, have experience leading or supervising staff responsible for storing, retaining, retrieving, and securing records for a public agency, possess historical knowledge of San Bernardino County, have an interest in past and current affairs within the Inland Empire, and demonstrate excellent research, analytical techniques, and the ability to build positive relationships.
ExaminationProcedure
A competitive evaluation of qualifications will be conducted based on a review of the application and supplemental questionnaire. Providing detailed and relevant work experience is advantageous. Resumes will not be reviewed in lieu of application materials.
