Information Technology Manager

San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is recruiting an Information Technology Manager to develop information technology strategies while managing the staff and operation of the Information Technology Division. The Manager will oversee mid‑range servers, database administration, network administration, application support, systems operations, communications, data/GIS, help desk, PC technical support, and the division budget. The role requires interfacing with internal management, state, federal, and regulatory agencies, other county departments, and vendors.

• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with district goals.
• Manage the Information Technology Division, including staff supervision, budgeting, and operational oversight.
• Support servers, databases, network infrastructure, applications, and technical services across the district.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, agencies, and vendors.
• Identify business needs and propose technology solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Five (5) years of full‑scope supervisory experience leading a team of IT professionals with responsibility for technology services, operations, projects, and business applications.
• Demonstrated experience in a public fire district, agency, authority, or department is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and collaborative skills.
• Budget management experience is highly desired.
• Relevant credential evaluation requirements for degrees earned outside the U.S.

• Background investigation including fingerprinting and medical exam required prior to appointment.
• Travel throughout the County may be required.
• Position is exempt and at‑will; exempt group members are unclassified.
