The Office of the County Counsel invites applicants to apply for the Supervising Deputy County Counsel position, which will supervise the County Counsel staff assigned to the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator Department.
Responsibilities- Overseeing and providing procedural, substantive, and strategic guidance to the County Counsel attorneys and support staff.
- Participating in personnel matters related to County Counsel staff, including but not limited to disciplinary matters, evaluations and performance reviews.
- Overseeing the training and professional development of the attorneys and support staff.
- Providing legal advice and assistance to the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator Department.
- Collaborating with County Counsel management and other County Counsel units as needed on all matters to ensure consistent, integrated advice and direction.
Travel:
Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.
State Bar:
Must be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of California at the time of hire. This status must be maintained in order to remain employed in this classification.
Experience:
Must currently hold regular status as a Deputy County Counsel IV or currently be employed in the Deputy County Counsel V classification in the office of the San Bernardino County Counsel and possess 5 years of experience practicing California municipal law or public agency civil law with specific experience in law enforcement matters.
- AND–License:
Must be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
