NATIONAL PRODUCE LOGISTICS MANAGER IN SAN BERNARDINO, CA

Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a National Produce Logistics Manager to join our team in San Bernardino, California. This individual will be responsible for overseeing inbound and outbound produce logistics, transportation planning, forecasting, and cold chain operations to ensure efficient product flow throughout the distribution network. The ideal candidate will possess 2–5+ years of leadership experience in grocery, produce, food distribution, cold chain logistics, or supply chain operations, experience managing transportation carriers, freight brokers, and third-party logistics providers, and more listed below.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner directly with customer produce teams to manage transportation rate requests, bid planning, forecasting, and capacity planning
  • Develop and execute daily inbound and outbound transportation plans across multiple distribution centers
  • Ensure compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement process improvements where appropriate
  • Collaborate with supply chain leaders to onboard suppliers, vendors, and transportation carriers while establishing customer- and supplier-specific operating procedures
  • Optimize inbound transportation through freight consolidation strategies and maximize trailer utilization for outbound shipments
  • Ensure all inbound purchase orders are planned and executed to meet customer service expectations while maximizing speed, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
  • Forecast inbound and outbound shipment volumes to support transportation capacity planning and carrier rate submissions
  • Monitor shipment execution, maintain accurate system updates, and provide timely shipment status communication to internal stakeholders and customers
  • Identify and resolve daily planning exceptions through proactive communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipment documentation, transportation reports, and operational records
  • Monitor carrier performance, document communications, and ensure service levels consistently meet customer expectations
  • Exercise sound judgment and make timely operational decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Lead daily operational planning meetings and adjust staffing or schedules as business demands require
  • Provide operational support outside normal business hours when emergency situations or critical business needs arise
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 3–5 logistics planners
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 2–5+ years of leadership experience in grocery, produce, food distribution, cold chain logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Experience managing transportation carriers, freight brokers, and third-party logistics providers
  • Strong background in refrigerated transportation, cold chain logistics, and warehouse operations
  • Experience with transportation planning, forecasting, capacity management, and shipment optimization
  • Knowledge of transportation operations, freight consolidation, routing, and load planning
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Excel, and related logistics software is preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Ability to walk throughout warehouse and distribution center environments
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated and varying temperature environments common to food distribution operations
  • Ability to travel as required
