Operations Manager
Kitchell is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior
Project Manager to join our Southern California region in San Bernardino and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented Construction Services companies in the United States.
Perform CM Services as an Owner’s Representative in the Corrections Market Sector. Building scopes of work and the procurement of services. Pre-con / Design Manager expertise will be exercised.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provides construction management services for the Justice/Corrections market sector
- Engage with the client and stakeholders to establish timelines and scopes of work
- Provide guidance and leadership with procurement of services
- Ensure compliance of contracts and adherence to project specifications for the project
- Responsible as onsite liaison with contractor and oversight of progress of construction
- Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
- Manages project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures or as required by the client
- Conducts project meetings and provides meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
- Provides management of project logistics, organization, and safety
- Ensures project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner, including Justice/Detention closeout requirements
- Performs other duties as required to ensure project success
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is preferred
- 15 or more years of experience in Project Management with an emphasis on Institutional Construction such as Detention Centers or Correctional Facilities in California is strongly preferred
- Exposure to DGS, JCC, GSA, or large public HCAI/OSHPD projects in lieu of Corrections Sector experience will be considered
- Strong user skills with the MS Office Suite of products, Procore, and other standard construction industry budget and scheduling tools are required
- Ability to pass a client issued background check is required
- A Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential, a Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification, and/or a LEED Professional Accreditation is preferred
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions is required
This position may have time embedded at the client location as well as at the project site in and around San Bernardino, CA.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and/or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
