The ideal candidate will, under general guidance, oversee, coordinate, and perform administrative and field duties to achieve and maintain coach operator, dispatcher, and supervisory efficiencies for the fixed route transit system by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and employees.

Oversees the performance of Coach Operators through administration of the Memorandum of Understanding, Work Standards through annual performance reviews of each Coach Operator.
Monitors Coach Operator performance in the areas of attendance, service standards, operations rules, customer relations and agency policies by providing coaching and counseling to Coach Operators.
Investigates allegations of coach operator misconduct or substandard performance; determines remedial or disciplinary action; conducts grievance procedure.
Oversees the performance of Field Supervisors through administration of the agency policies, operations rules, work standard, annual performance reviews of each Field Supervisor.
Monitors Field Supervisors and Dispatcher performance in the areas of attendance, emergency response, accident/incident investigations, customer and coach operator relations, agency policies by providing coaching and counseling to Field Supervisors and Dispatchers.
Oversees the performance of Dispatch personnel through administration of the agency policies, operations rules, work standards, and annual performance reviews of each Dispatcher.
Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of dispatchers, ensuring vehicles and Operators are assigned in a prompt, efficient and effective manner. Ensures courteous and professional communication between Coach Operators, Field Supervisors, Maintenance, Management, and other personnel are maintained. Monitors attendance. Ensures accurate and timely completion of reports and compliance with policies, standards and legal requirements. Monitors and records operator, equipment, route and system performance.
Ensures timely communication on personnel issues and observations, vehicle and systems status, including exceptions, and other issues and problems.Recommends and implements policies and practices to improve operations and reduce costs. Recommends procedural modifications related to dispatch, monitor and control of in-service personnel and vehicles. Assists in the development of and implements standard operating procedures, audit procedures and reports for compliance to standard operating procedures, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements.
Investigates workers compensation claims, monitors restrictions for light duty work programs, and ensures operators return to work release is in compliance with the physical job description and current work policies.
Provides leadership during emergencies, service interruptions, and major incidents, coordinating with Dispatchers, Field Supervisors, and Managers to restore service safely and effectively.
Monitors safety posture. Identifies high risk safety operators and develops accident and personal injury reduction strategies.
Serves as a liaison with internal departments, outside agencies, and vendors.
Acts as the Transportation Manager in their absence.
