Step Up is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing serious mental health conditions and chronic homelessness. Since 1984, Step Up has provided compassionate care, offering permanent housing, supportive services, and workforce development. With a strong focus on community integration and stability, the organization has been collaborating with communities to co‑develop housing since 1994. Step Up has made a significant impact by serving nearly 5,000 individuals across its locations in California, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee over the past year.

Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Program Manager FSP role located in San Bernardino, CA. The Program Manager will oversee program operations, provide leadership to staff, and ensure service quality aligns with organizational goals. Responsibilities include managing program deliverables, maintaining adherence to funding requirements, providing supervision and support to a multidisciplinary team, and fostering community partnerships. The Program Manager will also ensure the implementation of best practices in service delivery and work collaboratively to support individuals’ recovery and community integration.

Qualifications
  • Experience in program management, staff supervision, and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of mental health services, homelessness issues, and supportive housing programs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to build and maintain community partnerships and collaborations
  • Proficiency in budgeting, reporting, and compliance with funding regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Relevant experience in behavioral health, case management, or social services
  • Familiarity with Los Angeles community resources is an asset
