Travel RN - GI​/Endoscopy

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in an acute care setting requiring a current CA RN license and a minimum of 2 years' GI experience.

Job Details

• Work in the Endoscopy/GI Lab within an acute care hospital,

• Handles an average of 3-5 procedures per day, including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, MRCP, and biopsies, as well as emergency cases,

• Varied 8-hour shifts (day and evening) with required weekend and holiday call,

• Floating to PACU/ACU may be required with travelers as first to float,

• Cerner-Surginet EMR is used,

• Department provides special scrubs,

• Charge nurse and 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available,

• 2-3 days of department orientation provided,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration,

• Minimum 2 years of recent GI/endoscopy RN experience required,

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required,

• COVID vaccine required,

• Ability to take call including on weekends and holidays,

• Two professional references: one supervisor from last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from last 3 years,

• Copy of driver's license required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing specialized nursing care during GI diagnostic and therapeutic procedures,

• Holidays may be required based on departmental need,

• Must pass facility-specific testing on dysrhythmia and sterile technique during orientation,

• Special scrubs are provided and must be worn,

• Candidates may not have been employed at a Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year,

• RNs are required to float, with travelers prioritized for floating,

• Not open to candidates with pending RN credentials or certifications,
