Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a RN Sub‑Acute Care at Community Hospital San Bernardino, you oversee a unit of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

You'll advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, aligning with your department’s operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you must be accountable and confident. You are an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions with physicians, consultants, and family advocates. You should also be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care including plan of care, medication administration, responding to emergencies and supervising nursing care on the unit.
• Serves as a leader and teammate.
• Ensures direct reports and the department are positioned to deliver the best care possible to patients.
• Maintains a high level of engagement with the floor—visibly connecting with physicians, nurses, patients, and families.
• Monitors the efficiency of the department.
• Mentors people on your team; shares knowledge and confidence with assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and others.

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program.
• At least 6 months nursing experience.
• Registered in California upon hire.
• Basic Life Support–CPR certification upon hire.

• One year and six months experience in acute care nursing.
