Position Summary
As a Produce Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Produce and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.
What you’ll do- Be a Team Leader: supervise the team in the Produce and Floral area to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club.
- Communicate the goals of the department, executing company programs, adhering to policies, and advocating for the member, associate and the company.
- Be an Expert: maintain an in‑depth knowledge of business on the floor and back‑room operations, ensuring the produce area meets company standards for quality, inventory production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety and compliance.
- Manage seasonality in terms of item volume, product knowledge, processes and prioritizing time between areas.
- Collaborate with associates to ensure the team has resources to do their job effectively, sharing knowledge and training the team.
- Be a Techie: leverage digital tools to plan and drive sales, improve the shopping experience and elevate associate engagement. Utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training and product quality, and encourage others to adopt new tools.
- Be an Owner: drive business results, ensuring commitment to operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a neat, clean and safe work area, and producing and displaying merchandise according to the layout plan.
- Be a Talent Ambassador: teach and train the team to be highly effective, identify potential and desire in others, provide and develop necessary skills, encourage career growth, and source new talent internally and externally.
- Demonstrate and promote compliance with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity, explaining and modeling how to apply these in business processes, and supporting the Open Door Policy.
- Lead and participate in teams by sharing resources, information, tools, determining customer needs and business priorities, executing work assignments and providing advice, feedback and support to ensure timelines and quality.
