Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery.

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers with bakery purchases.
• Clean shelving and display cases; cleanse, fill, and rotate self‑service displays in front of store and adjacent to bakery.
• Assist with special orders.
• Collaborate with the baker to determine items that require baking or decorating.
• Help in department cleaning by hosing down the floors with soap and water.

The working environment is fast‑paced; essential functions include lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, visual and auditory requirements.

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently up to 45 pounds; occasionally up to 60 pounds.
• Food Handler Card or equivalent certification.

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
