The City of San Bernardino is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Aquatics Division as Pool Manager I/II.

Aboutthe Position
The City of San Bernardino is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for future openings in the Pool Manager series within the Aquatics Division of the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department. The Pool Manager I/II is a working supervisory position. Pool Managers assist the Aquatics Supervisor in scheduling and programming swimming pool facilities, supervise swimming activities and staff, and instruct classes in fundamentals of swimming.

They possess strong communication and supervisory skills, excel in maintaining safe and welcoming pool environments, and demonstrate sound judgment under pressure. Pool Manager I candidates are eager to grow their leadership experience, while Pool Manager II candidates bring proven expertise in overseeing aquatic facilities and staff.
Both are team-oriented professionals dedicated to delivering quality recreation services to the community.
Your day as a Pool Manager I/II might start with opening the pool, checking water quality, and ensuring all safety equipment is ready for use. You’ll oversee lifeguard staff, coordinate swim lessons, and help plan aquatic programs for residents of all ages. Throughout the day you’ll interact with the community, ensure facility safety and cleanliness, and provide guidance and support to your team.
You’ll assist with scheduling, respond to emergencies, and mentor new staff to create a safe and positive environment for all visitors.
Pool Manager I:
Plans and supervises the operation of a public swimming pool; protects life, prevents accidents, enforces safety regulations, provides instructions, and performs related duties. Provides friendly customer service to the public and City staff; assists with pool scheduling and programming; enforces safety rules; supervises swim activities; teaches swim classes; responds to emergencies with rescues, first aid, and CPR; oversees facility cleanliness;
conducts water tests; maintains records; supervises staff; promotes positive public relations; supports City and department goals.
Pool Manager II
:
Plans and supervises the operation of a large or year-round public swim center; protects life, prevents accidents, enforces safety regulations, provides instructions, and performs related duties. Provides customer service to the public and City staff; assists in scheduling and programming; supervises lifeguard staff and swim classes; enforces safety rules; performs rescues and administers first aid/CPR as needed.
