Senior Manager Of Basket Building
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Basket Building to drive increases in Average Order Size (AOS) and Average Order Value (AOV) across Sam's Club eCommerce. This leader will own the strategy and execution of initiatives that encourage members to add more items to their carts, increase basket value, and improve overall shopping efficiency.
What you'll do:
- Own end-to-end strategy to increase AOS and AOV across digital channels
- Identify and scale high-impact basket-building tactics (e.g., cross-sell, upsell, bundles, subscriptions, thresholds)
- Partner closely with Product, Merchandising, Marketing, and Data Science to deliver cohesive experiences
- Leverage data to identify member behavior patterns and unlock incremental basket growth opportunities
- Define, test, and optimize site experiences (PDP, cart, checkout, post-purchase)
- Build and prioritize a roadmap of experiments with clear success metrics
- Drive alignment across senior stakeholders and influence roadmap prioritization
- Monitor performance and report on key KPIs, including AOS, AOV, attach rates, and conversion impact
Qualifications:
- 6-10+ years in eCommerce, digital product, merchandising, or growth roles
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth through basket optimization or similar levers
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform decisions
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization
- Ability to influence without authority and operate at both strategic and tactical levels
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and A/B testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in retail or membership-based business models
- Background in personalization, recommendations, or pricing strategy
- MBA or equivalent experience
Success Metrics:
- Growth in AOS and AOV
- Increased attach rates and multi-item baskets
- Incremental revenue driven by basket-building initiatives
- Experiment velocity and win rate
