Role Description

The Stationary Engineer role is a full-time, on‑site position in San Bruno, CA. The individual in this role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining building mechanical systems, including boilers, chillers, pumps, and related equipment. Daily tasks include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting equipment issues, conducting repairs, and executing preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliable, efficient facility operations. The Stationary Engineer will monitor steam and water treatment systems, maintain logs and documentation, and respond to service requests in a timely, safety‑focused manner.

This role collaborates with property management and other building staff to support tenant comfort, regulatory compliance, and optimal building performance.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair skills, including troubleshooting mechanical systems and performing corrective actions with hands‑on experience to monitor and operate boilers, chillers, pumps, and related building equipment.
  • Candidates should possess experience with Water Treatment practices to maintain system efficiency, equipment longevity, and regulatory compliance.
  • The position includes the opportunity to assess, plan and perform preventive maintenance reducing downtime and extending the life of building systems.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in stationary engineering or building operations (e.g., boiler operator license) are beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of building automation systems, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures is preferred.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics, keep accurate maintenance records, and communicate clearly with team members and management.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in mechanical rooms, with a strong focus on safety practices.
  • Prior experience in commercial real estate facility operations is a plus.
