The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of three years of experience in accounting
. You should also be able to demonstrate an in‑depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), real estate accounting principles, and the ability to analyze financial statements
. In addition, the Senior Property Accountant must be highly organized, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Responsibilities
  • Review financial statements, reports, and other documents, including balance sheets, ledgers, and income statements, in accordance with GAAP and real estate accounting principles
  • Analyze financial statements, identify discrepancies, and investigate any irregularities
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
  • Troubleshoot and finalize monthly bank reconciliations
  • Responsible for accurate cash management, including approving A/P and requesting contributions when necessary
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets
  • Review the General Ledger to ensure proper coding of all transactions
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with other departments
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA, Master’s in Accounting/Finance, and/or CPA preferred
  • Minimum of three years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
  • App Folio experience preferred
  • Accrual‑based institutional financial reporting experience preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $105K – $135K annually (exempt position), commensurate with experience
  • Eligible for annual performance bonuses
