The AP Pathologist (MD) supports both Research and LBAF production activities by providing high-quality anatomic pathology review and interpretation. This role is primarily dedicated to research pathology support for a sustained volume of R&D cases, while also contributing to routine production work to maintain operational capacity. The position enables continued research execution without disrupting core laboratory operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide pathology review, interpretation, and case processing for research studies requiring anatomic pathology expertise.
- Support a steady-state research volume of approximately 500 cases per week (H&E and IHC) in alignment with R&D timelines and objectives.
- Collaborate with Research stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and scientifically sound pathology outputs.
- Perform production pathology work to support LBAF workload, capacity stability, and growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, and laboratory standards.
- Document findings and maintain accurate records consistent with internal policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic Pathology.
- Active medical license or eligibility for licensure in applicable jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated experience in anatomic pathology, with exposure to research or translational pathology preferred.
- Ability to independently manage case review workload in a high-throughput environment.
Technical:
- Expertise in anatomic pathology review and diagnostic interpretation.
- Familiarity with research-driven pathology workflows and internal billing models.
- Working knowledge of laboratory quality systems and regulatory requirements.
Behavioral:

- Strong time-management skills in a deadline-driven environment.
Duties are typically performed in a laboratory or office environment, either onsite or remotely. This position requires the ability to review digital or printed pathology materials, use a computer, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders. Extended periods of screen time may be required. Occasional work outside of standard business hours may be necessary to meet operational needs.
