Position: Regulatory Compliance Engineer (in-person) Electric Fish Energy Inc.

Our aging power grid is under pressure.
Electric Fish builds community batteries integrated with ultrafast EV chargers that deliver 100 miles of range in 5 minutes while supporting the grid. Our patented technology strengthens grid resilience and provides backup power during outages. We are a mission driven, fast growing team scaling manufacturing now.

WHERE YOU COME IN

As we scale deployments across North America, we are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Engineer to lead certification strategy, standards engagement, and product compliance across our platforms. You will help build the backbone of a distributed energy company designed for the next century.

DUTIES INCLUDE
  • Lead compliance efforts for:
    • UL 9540 for Energy Storage Systems
    • UL 2202 for DC Fast Charging Equipment
    • UL 1998 for Software in Programmable Components including BMS
    • UL 1741 SB for grid interactive power conversion equipment
  • Define the compliance roadmap for next generation products including bidirectional and grid services capable systems
    • Interface directly with UL, Intertek, CSA, and other NRTLs
    • Plan and coordinate certification test programs
    • Prepare technical documentation, gap analyses, and compliance matrices
    • Review schematics, firmware architecture, and mechanical design for risk identification
  • Support field approvals and standards alignment
    • Collaborate with AHJs for inspection readiness
    • Monitor updates to NEC, NFPA, UL, IEEE, and grid interconnection standards
    • Represent Electric Fish in standards discussions where applicable
    • Advise hardware, software, and product teams on regulatory impacts
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field
  • 5 plus years of experience in regulatory engineering, product safety, or certification roles
  • Deep knowledge of battery systems, BMS, high voltage safety design, inverters, AC DC and DC DC stages
