Delta Star Inc. is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Quality Engineer to provide essential quality engineering support for the manufacturing of medium voltage, mobile power transformers, and mobile substations. As a Quality Engineer, you'll lead technical problem-solving activities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the production process. You'll serve as the go-to technical resource for the Quality Assurance team, supporting manufacturing operations and contributing to the success of our quality management system.
As a Quality Engineer, you'll champion quality improvement initiatives by conducting internal audits, implementing quality tools, and driving the resolution of product non-conformities. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process performance, influence process owners, and foster a culture of quality excellence. Additionally, you'll support the Quality Assurance team with system updates, corrective actions, and hosting audits for both internal and external stakeholders.
Specific duties include:
- Leading technical problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conducting internal system and process audits, including random audits as needed, and preparing reports with follow-up actions.
- Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to document, assign, and resolve product non-conformities.
- Improving detection of non-conformances through quality tools like Control Plans, FMEAs, and statistical methodologies.
- Implementing metrics to measure process performance and use findings to prioritize audit strategies.
- Assisting with Quality Management System activities, including updates, corrective actions, and customer/auditor interactions.
- Training and mentoring peers on quality processes and methodologies.
We're seeking a motivated leader with strong technical expertise and a commitment to quality improvement.
Position requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Previous experience in a transformer manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, internal auditing, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Must live or be willing to relocate to within a reasonable safe commute to the assigned plant location. Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer for U.S. based positions.

- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
