Seeking a Research Associate II with hands‑on experience in chromatography process development to support the purification of diverse recombinant proteins and vaccine antigens. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and scaling chromatography processes using multiple purification modalities while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to advance research and development programs.
Responsibilities- Develop, optimize, and scale chromatography processes using AKTA FPLC systems.
- Execute purification techniques including IMAC, ion exchange (IEX), hydrophobic interaction (HIC), size exclusion (SEC), hydroxyapatite (HA/CHT), and membrane chromatography.
- Design chromatography workflows to reduce host cell proteins, endotoxins, aggregates, and other process impurities.
- Support process optimization through experimental design (DoE) and characterization studies.
- Maintain accurate experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Analyze and present experimental data, contributing to technical discussions and project planning.
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support research objectives.
- BS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific field with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience, or an MS with at least 1 year of relevant industry experience.
- Experience developing purification processes for diverse recombinant proteins, including bacterial and eukaryotic proteins, vaccine antigens, fusion proteins, glycoproteins, multimeric complexes, and virus‑like particles (VLPs).
- Hands‑on experience with multiple chromatography modalities beyond Protein A workflows, including capture, polishing, and orthogonal purification strategies.
- Familiarity with process development, AKTA/UNICORN software, and electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Experience with membrane chromatography, automation or high‑throughput workflows, and DoE is preferred.
