Candidates must be able to work onsite in San Carlos, California. As a Scientist at BeOne Institute, you will design and execute high-quality research studies supporting discovery and translational programs in immunology, inflammation, and immuno-oncology.

You will contribute to target evaluation, mechanistic understanding, and therapeutic development through generation of rigorous, decision-enabling data.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Identify and advance high-value therapeutic targets across immunology, inflammation and immuno-oncology therapeutic areas, aligned with organizational strategy, portfolio priorities and emerging scientific opportunities. Design, execute, analyze and interpret in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo studies to validate target biology, establish disease rationale, evaluate therapeutic modalities, develop mechanistic insight, and generate decision-enabling data packages. Communicate progress through regular updates while proactively identifying challenges and proposing solutions.

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary or cross-functional teams and drive innovation within and beyond the Institute. Contribute to management and operational activities to support strategic objectives of the BeOne Institute at the San Carlos site.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May mentor research associates and interns Requirements:
Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent advanced degree in one or more of the following areas: cancer biology, immuno-oncology, immunology, or a related life sciences discipline. Demonstrated track record of scientific achievements, as evidenced by publications in high-impact journals. Demonstrated ability to design experiments, generate high-quality data, analyze complex datasets, and communicate scientific findings effectively. Hands-on experience with relevant laboratory techniques such as primary human/mouse immune cell culture, cell line engineering, high parameter flow cytometry, cell-based immunological assays, ELISA, MSD, ELISPOT, molecular biology methods, protein characterization, microscopy/high-content imaging, or related experimental platforms.

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: immune organoid culture, AI-driven protein design, protein engineering, induced proximity technologies, synthetic biology approaches, or other innovative therapeutic platforms. Knowledge of biologics, small molecules and other complex modalities, experience with omics data analysis, and/or preclinical immunology and oncology mouse models is a plus. Ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and interdisciplinary research environment, and to integrate multi-disciplinary approaches to solve complex biological problems.

Strong collaboration skills across functional and disciplinary boundaries. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
