Compensation: $50.00–$85.00 per hour in base pay, plus applicable overtime.
This opening covers NETA Level II through Level IV, or equivalent demonstrated electrical power testing qualifications. Starting pay will be based on relevant experience, verified technical capabilities, certifications or equivalent qualifications, and the technical and leadership responsibilities assigned. The upper portion of the range is intended for candidates who demonstrate advanced testing, diagnostic, and field-leadership capabilities. Benefits are additional and described below.

Nova Tech is seeking an experienced electrical power testing professional with NETA Level II, III, or IV certification—or equivalent demonstrated qualifications—to join our San Carlos-based team.
We are looking for someone who prepares carefully, works safely, understands the importance of accurate results, and follows through.

NETA Level II or equivalent: Perform assigned testing and maintenance under appropriate supervision, accurately document results, recognize abnormal conditions, and communicate findings.
NETA Level III or equivalent: Lead routine and moderately complex testing assignments, evaluate results, guide less-experienced technicians, and coordinate safe, effective field execution.
NETA Level IV or equivalent: Lead complex testing and diagnostic assignments, provide senior technical guidance and report review, mentor technicians, and coordinate larger projects or multiple crews as assigned.
All assignments remain subject to task-specific qualifications and company authorization.
What You Will Do- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical equipment, including switch gear, switchboards, circuit breakers, transformers, protective devices, cables, grounding systems, and automatic transfer switches.
- Perform or lead acceptance and maintenance testing appropriate to your qualifications. Work may include insulation resistance, contact resistance, transformer testing, circuit breaker and trip-unit testing, cable testing, grounding measurements, and support for infrared inspections and other diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot equipment and system issues, identify deficiencies or abnormal test results, and communicate findings promptly. Contribute to corrective-action recommendations and elevate matters beyond your qualifications or authority.
- Participate in job safety planning, hazard assessments, and pre-job briefings. Follow applicable electrical safety requirements, NFPA 70E practices, approved work plans, and lockout/tagout procedures. Work only within your training and authorization, and stop work when conditions are unsafe, unclear, or materially different from the plan.
- Read one-line diagrams, schematics, equipment drawings, and manufacturer instructions. Prepare accurate test records and field reports, including equipment information, photographs, deficiencies, and relevant observations.
