About 1X

We’re building humanoid robots that work in home - doing the chores, handling the tasks, and giving people their time back. Simple, but it’s not.

To do this right, we have to solve robotics, AI, manufacturing - at the same time, at scale, in a form factor that has to be safe enough to live with your family. If you’re inspired by this, you’ll thrive here. We’ve been at this since 2014 and we’re at t point where the hard problems are behind us and the hard work is in front of us.

NEO is our flagship - a home robot designed to move, learn, and operate in the real world alongside real people. We’re not demoing it - we’re shipping it. We’re excited to meet you, if this excites you.

If you’ve spent your career working on problems that matter and want to see them actually reach the world - this is that moment. We’re scaling, we’re hiring with intention, and we need people who want to build something that will genuinely change how humans spend their time - safely creating abundance for all.

About the Team

The Data Collection Operations team is responsible for generating the high-quality real-world data that trains and improves NEO’s behavior. This team operates at the intersection of robotics, AI, and human interaction — creating the datasets that directly shape how our robots move, respond, and operate safely in home environments.

Your Charter

As a Senior Operator on the Data Collection team, your charter is to execute high-quality robot operations while raising the standard for precision, consistency, and operational excellence across the team. You will operate humanoid robots in controlled lab and residential-style environments, support AI data generation workflows, and help improve the systems and processes that enable scalable robot learning.

Key Outcomes
  • Execute robot operation and data collection workflows with high accuracy, consistency, and adherence to SOPs

  • Produce high-quality annotated datasets and detailed issue reporting that improve AI model training and robot performance

  • Maintain operational readiness of robots, equipment, and data collection environments across assigned shifts

  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and contribute measurable improvements to SOPs, tooling, and operational scalability

  • Support successful robot sessions in lab and residential environments while maintaining safety, professionalism, and data integrity

Minimum Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience operating robots, technical systems, or similar hands‑on operational equipment

  • Proven ability to follow structured procedures with precision and consistency

  • Comfortable working in VR environments and performing physically active tasks throughout the workday

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear operational equipment weighing up to 30 lbs

  • Availability to work flexible schedules including swing shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed

Preferred

Skills:
  • Experience supporting robotics, autonomous systems, or AI data collection programs

  • Prior experience contributing to SOP development, process optimization, or operational scaling efforts

  • Familiarity with data annotation tools, issue tracking systems, or technical reporting workflows

What does a successful 1X Team Member look like
