Our client, a construction/stone masonry firm in San Clemente, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day accounting operations. This is a newly created role ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform credit card reconciliations receipt tracking and expense data entry (up to ~$125K/month)
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable data entry for 3-4 entities
- Track and manage payment deadlines and due dates
- Support payroll processing time & attendance for 80 employees (ADP Workforce Now - basic tasks)
- Open and distribute mail; assist with front office duties (open mail, answer phones, greet visitors)
- Assist with HR processing, files, and field employee requests (new hire onboarding, forms, exit packets) and application reviews
- Maintain accurate financial records in Quick Books Desktop
- Support ad hoc projects and assist other team members as needed
- 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (internships welcome)
- Experience with Quick Books (Desktop preferred; Online considered)
- Exposure to ADP Workforce Now is a plus
- Comfortable working in a construction and hands‑on business environment
- Eager to learn and grow within the company long‑term
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
- Willing to take on a variety of responsibilities beyond core accounting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to work well in small office with moderate distractions - co-workers in and out, meetings
