A stable, established organization in San Clemente, CA is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in keeping financial processes accurate, organized, and timely while helping leadership identify issues, improve processes, and make informed business decisions. Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger functions, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Prepare financial reports, analyze results, and provide meaningful insights to business owners and senior management.
- Monitor accounting and operational activity to identify concerns, resolve issues, and improve business efficiency.
- Support leadership with special projects, reporting, analysis, process improvements, and internal controls.
- Coordinate cross-functional tasks and follow through on operational, administrative, and accounting-related priorities.
- Serve as a dependable, professional resource for management and internal teams.
- Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 per year, based on experience.

- Manage accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Complete month-end close activities and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support business owners and senior leadership with reporting, analysis, special projects, and operational follow-through.
- Identify accounting, process, and business concerns before they become larger issues.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with extensive hands-on accounting responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, follow-through, professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, business owners, executives, and staff at all levels.
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized privately held company.
- Experience supporting business owners, executives, or senior management.
- Broad business operations experience beyond traditional accounting responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
