PRE-SCHOOL CLASSROOM ASSISTANT (SAN ONOFRE) Position Details
- Work site:
San Onofre School - Starting date:
Immediately - Work schedule:
6.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, Monday–Friday, 7:50 a.m. – 2:20 p.m.
- Follows plans and assists the teacher with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
- Receives children from parents and notes all special instruction provided by parents.
- Assists in the supervision of small groups of students in the classroom, playground, and study trip activities.
- Attends to the physical needs of the children (e.g., feeding, toileting, resting) and assists children with development of self‑help skills.
- Performs related work as required.
- High school degree or recognized equivalent.
- Six (6) or more units (or equivalent quarter units) of post‑secondary child development or early childhood education coursework from an accredited college or university.
- Either an Associate’s Degree of Arts (AA) or completion of 48 college/university semester units, or passing the FUESD proficiency test for this classification.
- Experience working with diverse groups and cultures.
- One (1) year of paid or volunteer experience working with preschool children in an educational or childcare setting (highly desirable) and/or courses in childcare, supervision, psychology or guidance, or other training/combinations that provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
