Engineer III (Resource Planning)
We are seeking a junior-level Engineer III (Resource Planning) for our client on a direct hire basis. The right candidate will work with senior-level engineers to collectively meet project objectives, perform power network modeling and analyses based on power generation and transmission principles, and contribute to a range of consulting projects involving Power System Economics, Market Analysis, Steady‑State, Short Circuit, Dynamic Stability, and generator and renewables interconnections.
This is a remote or hybrid opportunity based out of Raleigh, NC;
Lombard, IL; and San Clemente, CA.

- Perform power system engineering and power system economic studies.
- Participate in resource planning studies, load, and generation interconnection studies.
- Conduct power system market analysis and information gathering work.
- Perform steady‑state, transient stability, and fast transient model development, analysis, results verification, and reporting.
- Support and excel in continuous personal improvement and team management efforts.
- Participate in business development activities.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or another related field.
- Bachelors with 4+ years of experience, or Masters with 2+ years, or Doctorate with 1+ year.
- 4+ years of experience conducting technical studies including resource planning, transmission planning, and generation interconnection with ISO, utilities, or consulting firms.
- Experience and proficiency in regulatory requirements and compliance methodologies for NERC standards including TPL, MOD, and CIP.
- Proven track record of technical excellence including published reports or papers.
- Familiarity with power system models and tools such as PLEXOS, Grid View, PROMOD, Aurora, PSS/E, PSLF, Power World, TARA, Aspen, PSCAD, and/or MATLAB.
- Knowledge of RTO/ISO market pricing structures and processes.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication, presentation, reporting, teamwork, and facilitation skills.
