Global Freight Management Specialist
$70,000 - $90,000 per year | San Clemente, CA | On-site | Permanent
Key Responsibilities Freight Operations- Coordinate global shipments across ocean, air, FTL/LTL, and intermodal transport
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
- Manage shipping documentation and ensure compliance with customs/regulatory requirements
- Partner with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs to negotiate rates and service agreements
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and benchmark freight costs
- Audit freight invoices and support accurate billing processes
- Ensure adherence to international trade regulations and internal SOPs
- Support documentation for audits and compliance reporting
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization
- Align freight strategies with supply chain, procurement, and customer service teams
- Provide guidance to resolve cross-border logistics challenges
- Track and report KPIs (cost, transit time, service performance)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across transportation operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in global freight, logistics, or freight forwarding
- Experience managing multimodal international shipments and vendor relationships
- Experience working with global carriers, brokers, and 3PLs
- Background in cost optimization strategies and routing guides
