Client: Growing professional services firm
Compensation $105K - $160K
Location: Remote with frequent travel in San Diego, LA, and Orange County.
Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their advisory practice, supporting fast-growing companies and well-known enterprises through critical financial and operational milestones. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with business leaders on complex accounting challenges while contributing to a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support projects involving IPO readiness, transaction support, carve-outs/spin-offs, audit preparation, and the adoption of new accounting standards.
- Research and resolve technical accounting issues, drafting documentation and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver presentations outlining technical concepts, project plans, and outcomes.
- Oversee team execution to ensure adherence to methodology, work programs, and professional standards.
- Educate internal teams and clients on accounting advisory best practices.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, methodology, and service delivery.
- Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for additional engagements.
- Coach, mentor, and support the career development of team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA and/or CMA certification.
- 5+ years of professional services experience (public accounting or advisory preferred); relevant technical accounting or financial reporting experience in a public/Fortune 500 environment considered.
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, and SOX.
- Solid understanding of accounting and audit practices and standards.
- Ability to travel at least 25%.
- Master's degree in Accounting.
- Experience with common ERP/accounting systems (Oracle, SAP, People Soft, JD Edwards, Workday, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex projects in fast-paced environments.
