Accounting Manager Consultant

We are partnering with a dynamic organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager Consultant to support a short-term, high-impact engagement. This project will focus on leading a bank reconciliation clean-up initiative, strengthening financial accuracy, and restoring integrity across key balance sheet accounts.

This is a hands-on consulting opportunity ideal for a detail-oriented accounting leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and can quickly assess, correct, and improve reconciliation processes. The anticipated duration is approximately one month, with potential for extension based on business needs.

$70-$85/hr, W2

• Lead a comprehensive clean-up of outstanding and aged bank reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve unreconciled balances and historical discrepancies
• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries to correct misstatements
• Perform detailed payroll account reconciliations and resolve related variances
• Review general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and proper account classification
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen controls
• Partner with internal stakeholders to obtain supporting documentation and clarify transactions
• Ensure reconciliations are fully documented and audit-ready by project completion

• Experience operating at the Accounting Manager level
• Proven track record managing complex reconciliation clean-up projects
• Strong hands‑on experience with payroll‑related reconciliations
• Comfortable navigating modular ERP systems and multiple accounting modules
• Advanced Excel skills and strong general ledger analysis capabilities
• Ability to work independently and meet tight project deadlines
• Public accounting or external audit background preferred
• Exposure to AI tools or automation initiatives within accounting environments preferred
