Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

PSG has partnered with a growing North County San Diego business seeking a hands‑on Controller with strong manufacturing and inventory accounting experience. This role will lead all accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls across the organization. The ideal candidate will hold a CPA, bring prior audit experience (public accounting preferred), and have deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and GAAP compliance within a manufacturing environment.

This individual will partner closely with operations to drive financial visibility, discipline, and process improvement.

• Lead all general accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and month‑end close
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee reconciliations and journal entries
• Serve as primary liaison for the annual audit
• Oversee inventory and cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, BOMs, and overhead allocation
• Partner with operations on inventory turns, margins, and production variances
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and strong internal controls, including cycle counts
• Drive process improvements and reporting efficiencies
• Support tax compliance and regulatory reporting
• Manage and develop accounting staff

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA highly preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 3+ years of leadership experience
• Strong manufacturing and inventory accounting background
• ERP experience required
• Advanced Excel skills
