Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in San Diego, California, this role involves managing financial records, preparing statements, and ensuring accuracy in accounting processes. If you have strong expertise in Quick Books Online and a deep understanding of cash basis accounting, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients.

- Input and import financial data efficiently into Quick Books Online.

- Conduct thorough bank and credit card reconciliations.

- Record payroll entries and other journal entries at month-end.

- Maintain comprehensive fixed asset schedules.

- Assist with tax return preparation during peak periods.

- Support various ad-hoc accounting projects as needed.

- Adhere to monthly close deadlines while maintaining precision and attention to detail. Requirements - 2-5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles, particularly cash and tax basis accounting.

- Advanced proficiency in Quick Books Online, with Quick Books Online Certified Pro Advisor certification required.

- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.

- Familiarity with Ramp and/or Rippling is advantageous.

- Ability to quickly adapt to new software and systems.

- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
