Staff Accountant

Description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a company in San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records

+ Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and subledgers

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close activities

+ Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules

+ Analyze account activity and investigate variances or discrepancies

+ Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed

+ Maintain fixed asset records and assist with depreciation schedules

+ Help ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

+ Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy
