Client Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Client Accounting Manager to manage multiple client accounting engagements. The role includes bookkeeping, ledger reviews, month and quarter‑end close, staff management, and client consulting. It follows a hybrid working model with offices in La Jolla, California, and requires occasional local travel.

• Client Accounting and Outsourced Accounting for High Net Worth Individuals and their businesses, nonprofits, etc.
• Bookkeeping, family office work, private business and trust accounting, Quick Books work.
• Collaborate on month and quarter‑end close, preparing journal entries, bank/ledger reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Handle A/P, A/R, payroll, and other general ledger duties.
• Identify and implement process improvements and controls for clients.
• Train, supervise, and develop associates and seniors.
• Build relationships with clients and maintain relationships with firm leadership.
• Provide on‑site accounting consulting, data entry, and related processes.
• Develop working knowledge of client businesses and meet client deadlines.
• Solicit new client relationships and participate in client/potential client seminars to expand networking.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
• 4+ years experience in public accounting or public/industry mix.
• Active CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent Certification.

• Experience in outsourced / contract accounting roles.
• Comfortable running month‑end closing and reviewing financials in Quick Books for multiple clients.
• Quick Books and  / Expensify skills preferred.
• Experience onboarding new clients, performing assessments, and advising on next steps.
