Staff Accountant

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented staff accountant for our client in the biotech industry in San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and subledgers
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances or discrepancies
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
• Maintain fixed asset records and assist with depreciation schedules
• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy
