As ODU continues to grow across North America, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to help drive healthy cash flow, reduce aging balances, and strengthen customer payment performance. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a high-volume portfolio, work cross-functionally with internal teams, and contribute to process improvements that directly impact business results.

- Independently manage a portfolio of customer accounts to maximize collections and minimize past-due balances.
- Conduct collection calls, email outreach, and customer follow-up activities.
- Analyze aging reports, payment trends, and account risks to prioritize collection efforts.
- Investigate and resolve payment delays, deductions, short payments, disputes, and billing discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed account documentation and collection notes.
- Escalate delinquent or high‑risk accounts when appropriate.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Service to resolve customer issues impacting payment.
- Maintain positive customer relationships while enforcing payment terms and company policies.
- Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance collection effectiveness and reduce recurring issues.
- Assist with customer credit reviews and recommendations related to credit limits.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on schedule.
- Apply incoming payments, including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit card transactions.
- Reconcile customer accounts and research unapplied cash.
- Support month‑end close activities related to accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate customer records within the ERP system.
- Assist with reporting and analysis related to receivables and collection performance.
- 3+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable experience with responsibility for collections, account reconciliation, and customer account management.
- Strong understanding of AR processes, aging management, dispute resolution, and credit practices.
- Excellent customer communication and relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyze account activity, identify trends, and resolve issues independently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP platform.
- Experience analyzing credit reports and assessing customer credit risk.
- Manufacturing, industrial, or business‑to‑business (B2B) experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Employees may also be eligible for bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.
