Senior Accountant

Beam Global, is a clean technology innovator which develops and manufactures sustainable infrastructure products and technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging, energy storage, energy security and outdoor media. The EV ARC is a solar-powered EV charging station that stores energy from sunshine for charging day or night and provides EV charging and emergency power during grid failures. It requires no trenching, no foundations or no installation work of any kind, is deployed in minutes and can be moved to a new location with ease.

We are looking for hands-on self-starter in our San Diego headquarters. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position. The position will report to the Controller.

This role offers a defined path to promotion to Accounting Manager based on performance and demonstrated readiness to take on expanded responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

* Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow). Lead the month-end closing procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts.

* SEC Reporting Support:
Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules and tie-out work papers for quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) SEC filings, including financial statement support and footnote disclosures.

* General Ledger Management:
Maintain the integrity of accounting data by verifying, allocating, and posting journal entries. Perform bank and account reconciliations.

* Cost Accounting:
Perform cost accounting activities including margin analysis, inventory rolls, overhead allocation and absorption, excess and obsolete reserves, and monthly physical inventory counts.

* Audit & Compliance:
Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary work papers and schedules. Ensure adherence to internal controls and legal regulations.

* Taxation:
Prepare sales and use tax calculations and filings. Coordinate with external tax team to prepare work papers for federal and state tax filings.

* Payroll:
Process bi-weekly payroll with ADP software as needed.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with Sales, Production, and Engineering to support manufacturing schedules and cost control initiatives.

* Other duties as assigned.

Required

Skills & Qualifications

* Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

* Experience:

3 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting preferred. Experience working in a public company preferred.

* Technical Proficiency:
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros). Hands-on experience with large ERP accounting software, preferred Net Suite.
