Major Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with IRC’s accounting policies and procedures, as well as generally accepted accounting principles and donor requirements, for both the office and donors.
- Support daily financial activities for the Statewide Family Support Coordinator (SFSC) project:
- Review and post invoice journals; resolve journal discrepancies and report to supervisor for advice as necessary.
- Review subgrantee’s invoices and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and cost eligibility and process payments.
- Verify funder’s reimbursements, reconcile payments with invoices, and record accurately to the accounting system.
- Prepare grant expenditure reports for manager’s review and submission, investigate variances, and report to supervisor for direction.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of donor policies, regulations, and procedures, and share this knowledge with the programs team.
- Serve as back‑up to Finance Manager for key day‑to‑day duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Formal accounting or bookkeeping training and/or coursework required; 4‑year degree in related field strongly preferred.
- 3+ years professional work experience with accounting and bookkeeping procedures and standards.
- Strong commitment to ensuring the success of the IRC mission while adhering to the values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality as defined in the IRC Way.
- Solid computer‑based accounting skills, including spreadsheets and other financial‑related software programs.
- Proficient in general office software programs like MS Word, Excel, email, and internet.
- Proven track‑record to work as a team member in a cross‑cultural environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Ability to optimally work with remote teams through telephone, email, video conference, and other methods of correspondence.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken.
Working Environment: Standard office work environment.
CompensationPay Range: $31.71 – $35.62 per hour. Posted pay ranges apply to US‑based candidates. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
