HHSA Contract Auditor (Health & Human Services Agency) Future Salary Increases
June 2027 – 3% increase to base pay (3% Across-the-Board)
ResponsibilitiesAs an HHSA Contract Auditor, you will plan, organize, direct and perform a wide variety of professional auditing duties and advisory services related to Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) service contracts. You will review and analyze financial records, management controls, policies, procedures, and reports; test claims, analyze contracts, validate financial documents, and assess contractors’ compliance with applicable laws and funding source regulations.
IdealCandidate
An ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting, auditing, finance, public administration, or business administration, and prior experience in auditing/accounting with professional training in the field. Candidates should be self‑motivated, able to follow directions, possess strong interpersonal, reasoning, and writing skills, and demonstrate a firm basic understanding of auditing and accounting. Ability to analyze contract documents, research current laws and funding regulations, summarize findings concisely, pay strict attention to detail, and work independently or as part of a team is required.
Minimum QualificationsNote:
Possession of one or more of the following certifications is highly desirable:
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Internal Auditor (CISA), Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Financial Manager (CFM).
The starting salary for this position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications at time of appointment. Future salary increases are scheduled as indicated above.
Conditions of EmploymentAll prospective candidates will undergo a background check, including fingerprinting, and a pre‑employment medical screening before beginning County employment. Additional background investigations may be conducted based on job‑related activities. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.
Evaluation ProcessQualified applicants will be placed on a three‑month employment list based on scores from the supplemental questionnaire. Successful initial screening will result in a review of application information for accuracy and qualification confirmation.
