How you will make an impact
Senior Accountant 1 is responsible for leading monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses across key areas such as fixed assets, debt, intercompany transactions, leases, and international accounting. The role supports compliance and reporting requirements by preparing schedules for SEC filings, audits, and tax returns, managing reconciliation software, and partnering with auditors to review processes and controls.
Additionally, the Senior Accountant drives process improvements, assists with system implementations, and ensures adherence to U.S. GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations across fixed assets, debt, intercompany transactions, leases, allocations, prepaids and international accounting activities.
Conduct periodic analyses of chargebacks, GPO fees, and returns reserves to identify trends and establish appropriate provision rates.
Review and monitor deferred revenue balances, ensuring accurate classification between current and long-term accounts.
Perform initial reviews of treasury and investment portfolios; prepare quarterly disclosure reports and record bank-related transactions with corresponding reconciliations.
Provide support for property tax and sales tax reporting requirements.
Manage account reconciliations and journal entries, including administration of reconciliation software (e.g., Blackline).Develop and maintain supporting schedules for SEC filings, quarterly and annual audits, and tax returns.
Partner with auditors to complete walkthroughs of processes and controls for assigned areas of responsibility.
Identify, assess, and implement process improvements to strengthen efficiency and enhance internal controls.
Assist with the implementation and integration of new systems and system upgrades.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX and other regulatory requirements.
Collaborate consistently with colleagues across the Finance and Accounting department and partner effectively with other departments to ensure alignment and accuracy in financial processes.
Maintain and support productive working relationships with both internal and external auditors, facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of audit inquiries.
Oversee and manage relationships with designated third-party service providers, ensuring service quality, compliance, and value delivery

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent discipline) required
Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry exposure (biotech or related fields strongly preferred).Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application in complex business environments.
