Job Summary
An ASC 740 Experienced Senior Associate is responsible for supporting the preparation and review of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, applying U.S. GAAP and tax accounting foundational knowledge to complete accurate and timely tax provision calculations, documentation, and reporting, and identifying and resolving complex tax issues. In this role, the ASC 740 Experienced Senior Associate will work closely with clients and team members to ensure completion of deliverables and may be charged with developing junior staff and contributing to process improvements within the ASC 740 department.
Job Duties- Prepares and reviews income tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740
- Analyzes and documents uncertain tax positions and related disclosures
- Assists with the preparation and review of tax footnotes for financial statements
- Collaborates with clients to gather necessary data and resolve provision‑related questions
- Supports the implementation of process improvements and best practices within the ASC 740 function
- Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff
- Coordinates with audit teams to support the tax provision audit process
- Researches and interprets tax laws and regulations as they relate to ASC 740
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA certification, required
- Master's in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
- Experience in the process of preparing and auditing ASC 740 computations for both privately held and publicly traded clients, required
- Three (3) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience with a focus on ASC 740, preferred
- Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty, preferred
- Prior basic supervisory experience, preferred
- CPA certification, attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), preferred
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role, preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
- Experience with tax provision software such as One Source Tax Provision, preferred

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- Able to prepare simple tax returns

Maryland Range: $98,000 - $110,000
Massachusetts Range: $102,000 - $119,000
New Jersey Range: $88,000 - $125,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $115,000 - $130,000
Washington DC Range: $105,000 - $117,000
