Billing Analyst

A leading utility company is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Analyst to join its team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely customer invoicing, maintaining billing data integrity, and supporting revenue reporting processes. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a customer-focused mindset to identify billing discrepancies, resolve issues efficiently, and contribute to continuous process improvement.

The Billing Analyst will work closely with accounting, finance, and customer service teams to support day-to-day billing operations, reconcile data, and ensure compliance with internal billing standards and procedures.

• Analyze billing data to verify invoice accuracy and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Investigate and resolve billing issues to ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing.
• Reconcile billing records with financial and accounting systems to support accurate revenue recognition and reporting.
• Partner with accounting and finance teams to research and correct billing discrepancies.
• Respond to customer billing inquiries, disputes, and payment arrangement requests while providing excellent customer service.
• Maintain, update, and troubleshoot billing systems to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.
• Assist with process documentation and recommend improvements that enhance billing accuracy and reduce manual effort.
• Support reporting initiatives by compiling and analyzing billing metrics and performance data.
• Onsite attendance required Monday - Thursday each week.

• 1-2 years of experience in a billing, finance, accounting, or analytical role.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to reconcile large data sets and identify discrepancies.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively across accounting, finance, and customer service teams.

• Experience working with SAP or similar ERP/billing systems.
• Experience with in a utility, energy, or regulated industry environment.
